My philosophy is based on reward based dog training. I use lure/reward and shaping methods to elicit a desired behavior and ignore or redirect unwanted behavior to change it to what I would like it to be. You will create a close bond with your dog to form an awesome partnership. We don't speak dog and our dog doesn't speak human, so we must develop some form of communication with one another. Your dog needs information from you! And I can teach you how to form that communication.
I have been showing and training dogs and horses for many years. My love for animals encouraged me to develop training methods I would love to share with others. I went back to school in 2009 to pursue Kutztown University's Canine Management and Dog Training Program. After that I worked for a facility that offered training, boarding and daycare. I soon realized that training was what I loved most. I opened my own doors in 2010 and built my training facility the next year.
See my Group Classes page for what I offer. I also offer behavior consultations in your home or at my facility, as well as private lessons. In 2012 I earned my Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) status from the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW.) Nose Work is a great mental and physical activity for your dog whether you compete or not! I am also a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and The Professional Pet Guild (PPG).
I travel the country to attend conferences, seminars, camp and workshops to stay abreast of the latest scientific methods about training and behavior. Training is my passion and I would love to share my vast knowledge with you!
